The Police are investigating a report about a threat of a bomb outside the journalist Daphen Caruana Galizia's house.
The report was made by means of an anonymous telephone call early this morning at the Police Headquarters. The Police was informed about a plan to place a bomb outside the house of Caruana Galizia.
In the telephone which was made from a public telephone in Paola names of the people allegedly involved in the plan were mentioned.
From information that Net News has it resulted that the police is investigating the case and has interrogated two individuals. Sources told this paper that at this stage the investigation is not excluding anything.
When contacted, the journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia attributed this threat with the way that the Labour television station, last Monday evening broadcasted filming of herself and her son present for the debate between the political leaders at the University of Malta organized by the organization ‘Insite'.
She referred to the way that, two cameramen of the Labour tv station, and a photographer of the Labour newspaper, were all the time focusing on her and her son.
Daphne Caruana Galizia said that ‘my son is 19 years old and he is a citizen like any other with the right to his opinion. But if we have arrived at a stage that we use journalists' children to intimidate, we've arrived at a bad state. This is an attack on the freedom of press in our country'.
With reference to the Labour Party, Daphne Caruana Galizia also said ‘these people say that they have changed. But instead of using violence, they use the media to intimidate those who do not agree with them.
Whilst forgetting that I am a journalist and that I write articles in newspapers, attacking me as if I am in politics when this is not the case.''
